Rainy season: cautions for kids

Its fun with rains at the start of schools. I am sure, every one of the kids would love to get wet. Here are some tips to keep you healthy.

When want to get wet in rains, playground or terrace or safety play area of society will be a better place than roads. On the roads vehicle drivers have less visibility due to rains. And at sea face, high tide may shed dirt on your body.

Donot pull some one into rains if he or she doesnt not wish to get wet.

Yes you can play games sing and dance, but stay away from floating dirt, overflowing gutters, and stagnant water, manholes, electric poles/ wires, cable wires.
Get into the house quickly when lightening is striking. Avoid getting near pole or tree in this situation.

Its good to enjoy rains for 20 minutes than getting drenched till your nose starts running or you start coughing. having a cap or raincoat will help you enjoy rains without getting soaked. Its more fun, when you take light showers.

Do not get into rains without your parents'/caretaker's supervision, more so for kids less than 10 years age, as floor gets slippery and you are likely to get hurt.

Some kids who need to stay away from rain: Kids who get repeated cough cold wheeze fever or leaky ear issues. Kids less than 5 year age should always be close to parents when getting wet so parent can protect. Kids below 2 years should not be allowed to get wet in rains.

Its always healthy to have a good bath after you come back home getting wet in rains. It will wash of dirt/chemicals that come down the rain and drain. Immediately after bath donot forget to dry yourselves and hairs too .

Donot get into rains if your parent/teacher/doctor or caretaker advises so, in a situation.

Never ever play around with stagnant water after rains, its dirty can have germs and mosquitoes and may make you fall ill.

Never drink rain water, its polluted. Rainwater harvesting processes rain water for human use.

After bath and drying, have good warm snacks preferably at home.
